Fourteen children aged 11 to 14 were arrested, suspected of “manslaughter”, after the death of a teenager in a fire, Northumbria police announced on Saturday in northern England.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the body of this 14 -year -old adolescent was discovered by firefighters in an industrial area of Gateshead, suburbs of Newcastle, where they were called on Friday evening.
A fire broke out there around 8 p.m. local time.
-On Saturday evening, police announced that they had arrested fourteen children (eleven boys and three girls) aged 11 to 14. They are suspected of “manslaughter”.
“The investigation is only in its infancy and the public is asked not to speculate,” said a police spokesman, without making more comments.
Residents of the district told the BBC on Sunday that adolescents regularly introduced themselves on the industrial site in question.
