the Rhône and the entire southern half of the country in yellow vigilance

The Rhône remains in yellow vigilance this Sunday due to a risk of heavy rain, floods and thunderstorms.

After the spectacular stormy episode on Saturday May 3-marked by impressive hail falls in Lyon, especially around 5.30 p.m. in the city center and in several surrounding municipalities-the Rhône department remains this Sunday, May 4 in yellow alert “rain-row” et “storms” par Météo-France. This vigilance affects the entire southern half of the country, and the entire Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

In Lyon, the sky remains covered with a large part of the day, with supported showers expected several times. Cumulation of significant precipitation is possible locally, especially in the areas already affected by the weather of yesterday. If no orange alert is in force, the authorities call for caution in travel, especially near rivers and in the sectors exposed to urban streams.
