A woman dies after the explosion of the bomb she was carrying in her hands

The investigation will have to shed light on this case. This Saturday, May 3, a woman died in the city of Thessaloniki, in the north of Greece, after the explosion of a bomb she was carrying in her hands, reports the police and the international press, including CNN.

She was suspected of having wanted to rob the bank’s automatic distributor in front of which she was early in the morning. Transported to hospital, she succumbed to her injuries, her hand mutilated during the explosion.

“It seems that it was carrying an explosive device and planned to place it in the automatic distributor of a bank,” said a senior police official at the Reuters news agency. “An incident occurred and an explosion was imposed on him in his hands,” he added.

According to the Greek media Protothema, the woman would have placed the bomb in front of the bank, lit the wick, before returning to check that everything was in place. As she returned, the bomb would have exploded.

According to Associated Press, this 38 -year -old woman was known to local police services for several flights. A criminal investigation has been opened. The explosion did not make any other victims, but some material damage on several windows and surrounding vehicles.
