The film “The discovery of the golden owl” reveals the location where the statuette was discovered seven months ago, after more than 30 years of treasure hunt.
End of the suspense for the owners. Seven months after the discovery of the famous golden owl, a film reveals the last secrets of this quest which lasted 31 years. The feature film, entitled The discovery of the golden owlreveals among others the place where the precious statuette was discovered.
A place that had been quoted several times by enthusiasts of this treasure hunt: the town of Dabo, in Moselle. Each year, thousands of curious people went to this village, motivated by the desire to get their hands on the little cake in silver and gold set with ruby and diamonds estimated at 150,000 euros.
The research of the golden owl had been orchestrated by Max Valentin – Régis Hauser in civil status – until his death in 2009, then by his acolyte Michel Becker, who lifted the veil in the film on the solutions to the 11 puzzles of the treasure hunt, the longest in France.

“Precautions”
Michel Becker is also among the discoverers of treasures to whom the film gives the floor. Before his broadcast, he returned to the secret remained intact of the location of the golden owl.
“It was very well kept since even their families (those of the winners, editor’s note) are not aware of their discovery,” says Michel Becker on BFMTV. For the filming of the film, “we had to take precautions”, adds on BFMTV Alexandre Largeron, producer of the film. And especially to turn at night.
“We have even voluntarily omitted to communicate certain information to certain interlocutors” so that the mystery is not fanned. “It was not a trivial shoot.”
