Aryna Sabalenka crowned a dream race in the Spanish capital on Saturday evening, holding a late wave of Coco Gauff, 6-3, 7-6 (3), to win the Mutua Madrid open for the third time in his career.

She previously won the WTA 1000 event in 2021 and 2023.

And that Madrid Triple is not the only good thing to come in a three.

Sabalenka is now the First player, woman or Man, to win three titles on tour this year. She also won the WTA 500 event in Brisbane in January and another WTA 1000 event in Miami in March.

Most titles in 2025 (at the level of the turn, men or women):

  • 3: Aryna Sabalenka (Brisbane, Miami, Madrid)
  • 2: Madison Keys (Adelaide, Australian Open)
  • 2: Felix Auger-Aliassime (Adelaide, Montpellier)
  • 2: Andreeva Mirror (Dubaï, Indian Wells)
  • 2: Jessica Pegula (Austin, Charleston)
  • 2: Carlos Alcaraz (Rotterdam, Monte Carlo)

And the transport of the title of Sabalenka could easily have been higher, because it also reached three other finals, at the Australian Open (losing in three sets on the keys), in Indian Wells (losing in three sets in Andreeva) and Stuttgart (falling to Jelena Ostapenko in straight sets).
