Fraying your path to high level sport is never easy, and requires a lot of sacrifices on a daily basis. Some headliners of ATP have had strong words on this point, such as Carlos Alcaraz who depicts himself in a “tennis slave”. A vision shared by Jack Draper who wonders about his longevity in tennis.
“We cannot deny that in any professional sport, and in particular in tennis, it is a hard work. We play, we are in competition, we are far from our families, we sacrifice our lives. If you practice this sport properly and you give your all every day, it’s difficult and I doubt myself every day. Can I continue? If you want to get big, that’s what you need to do. I don’t know how long I will play. I don’t know if I will play to the thirties. I will just try to get the most out of my career and, I hope, to achieve my potential. I know that to get there, I have to give everything ”said Indian Wells champion at the Masters 1000 press conference in Madrid.
