Soccer: the roses are already forming a “very special” team according to Latifah Abdu

The Montreal roses only played three games, but already, the attacker Latifah Abdu does not hesitate to speak of a “very special” team.

The new female soccer training of the metropolis has signed three victories since the start of the inaugural season of the Northern Super League (SLN). Each time, she got there with different scenarios.

Robert Rositoiu’s troop opened the brand in the second minute against Toronto AFC lifting the curtain, then closed the door to take 1-0. She gave herself a comfortable three-way cushion against the Vancouver Rise, en route to a gain of 3-1, then came from the back to her very first home game to defeat Ottawa 2-1, Saturday afternoon in front of a roam of 5581 spectators at the Boréale stadium.

The sample remains fragmentary, but optimism reigns within the club.

« [Vendredi] At the training session, we had really moments, really magical in terms of intensity and combative spirit of the players, argued Rositoiu, after the victory of Saturday in Laval. I think that is what really allows us to continue pushing in matches, growing up in our matches and, when we can start hard, it really creates good performances.

“Now we’re not going to be satisfied with that. There are lots of things that can be made progress and correct again. »»

Despite these successes, several strangers remain. The roses have only played three games, so that they have never faced two of the six teams on the circuit, the Wild de Calgary and the Tides de Halifax.

It is therefore still early to brush a full portrait of the level of play in the league or to go there.

“It’s very new, I don’t think it would be just to compare [les équipes] Because it’s only two or three games we play. And compared to us, already from the first match to the [troisième]I see a progression on the details. So me, I’m just waiting to see and I can’t wait to see how we are going to progress in the coming weeks, ”said Abdu.

For Rositoiu, one thing is very clear, however: no victory will be easy to get.

“Each match will be difficult, we feel it, we have felt it from the start. So yes, three victories, but there are still a lot of matches and a lot of opportunities for us to grow. Today (Saturday) was another opportunity and it was a different scenario.

“So I think it’s really going to be a good level in the league. Everyone can beat everyone and we just continue to progress. »»

This progression will certainly be facilitated by the spirit of obvious camaraderie which reigns in the entourage of the team. He was already felt when taking official photos, an exercise to which journalists were invited on March 31.

“I think we have a very special team,” launched Abdu on Saturday. As soon as we started, there was inexplicable chemistry. We are still there for each other, outside and on the ground. We are really together, always together, regardless of the situation. And I think it is thanks to this that we manage to perform and connect together on the field. »»

The roses will try to continue their momentum by welcoming the Halifax Tides, Saturday afternoon at the Boréale stadium.
