This Friday, May 2, 2025, in Cagliari, in the Autonomous region of Sardinia in Italy, a delegation from the Association of Senegal (AMS), led by its secretary general, the Honorable deputy mayor Mr. Mbaye Dione, signed a partnership agreement with the National Association of the Italian Association of the Italian Association of the Italian Association of the Italian Communes of Sardinia (Sardinia). The discussions between Anci Sardinia and AMS, which led to the signing of this agreement, led to the decision to implement a series of actions in favor of the two peoples, according to a medium -term modular programming in the following areas:
Economic development;
Health and social inclusion;
Education, vocational training and cultural exchanges;
Environment and regional planning (management of water resources and attenuation of hydrogeological risks);
Reinforcement of administrative capacity.
Anci Sardinia and AMS believe that it is fundamental to strengthen political and cultural relations with Senegal through the strengthening of their diplomatic network and the intensification of the program of political visits at the highest level. They also undertake to continue and extend training, education and capacity building activities within the public administration of the African country, and to promote, through economic and training initiatives, the creation of more employment opportunities in Senegal.
It should be recalled that the Senegalese delegation, led by the secretary general of the AMS, Mr. Mbaye Dione, mayor of the commune of Ngoundiane, included among others Mr. Abdoulaye Diop, treasurer of the AMS and mayor of the commune of Pikine Guinaw Rail, Mr. Malick Ndiaye, mayor of Gagnick, Mr. Ousmane Badji, mayor of Samsamba, Mayor of Pikine East, and Mr. Abdou Aziz Diome, mayor of the town of Thiakhare. These last two municipalities, Pikine East and Thiakhare, already have partnership relations with municipalities in the autonomous region of Sardinia.
