Human tide in Dakar to say stop to genocide in Gaza…

-

This Sunday, the streets of Dakar were invaded by a surge of solidarity. Thousands of Senegalese responded to the invitation of an important demonstration in favor of Palestine, ranging from the normal school, Bourguiba, jet of water and the alleys Ababacar Sy until the terminus Liberté 5.

Crown Palestinian flags, powerful cries, resolved and concentrated faces: the Senegalese population vigorously expressed their fury to the current genocide in Gaza and its total rejection of the Israeli occupation.

Ayib Daffé, member of the Pastef parliamentary group, delivered an uncompromising speech. Through the voice of the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko and the whole government, he has reaffirmed Senegal’s position without ambiguity: unconditional support for the Martyr Palestinian people. “We are asking to stop the illegal occupation, respect for international law and the implementation of UN resolutions for an autonomous, free and viable Palestinian state,” he insisted, forcefully denouncing war crimes and systematic damage to Gaza.

The event brought together citizens, political leaders, members of civil society and religious figures, all in solidarity with a single watchword: justice for Palestine is non -negotiable. “International law is a universal legal standard. “If the United States or other nations trample resolutions from the United Nations and the International Criminal Court, then it endangers all of humanity,” warned the parliamentarian, urging the international community to no longer remain silent.

Following the recent celebration of the independence of Senegal on April 4, the demonstrators made a powerful desire heard: that Palestine could also enjoy total sovereignty. “We must continue this struggle until the Palestinian people enjoy their freedom at home and in security,” finished Ayib Daffé, exhorting to maintain popular pressure. Senegal, a country of dignity and struggle, has meant in the world that in the presence of injustice, silence is no longer possible.
