The CAP may be blamed for not having tried the drop at the last minute of the regulation time, while the Rouennais were about to give in. Result, after extra time, Périgueux lost (16-23). No semi-final therefore.
Finally, lightning did not drop this Saturday on the Francis-Rongiéras stadium. The rain fell before the meeting, enough to water the lawn just right. But too little to doubt Périgueux who returned drum beating in his match.
The CAP monopolized the 22 meters from Rouen and it was only after seven minutes of play that the Normans finally entered the Périgueux camp after a penalized mile. But Didier Casadéi’s men were pragmatic by taking the penalty. Hutley passed the first points of the meeting (3-0, 9th). A few minutes later, Camou received a yellow card for an in front and Javaux equalized (3-3, 12th). The two teams were gauging, used the game a lot without really that one of them made the difference.
Yet Rouen, on each foray into the Capiste camp, was very dangerous, with accelerations of its wingers. The course was not to be outdone with a beautiful combination between Green, Hutley, Piaton and Lavernhe, which ultimately gave nothing. And then Hutley spent three more points (6-3, 33rd). The half-time was whistled with several Rouen penalties which could have hit the bull’s eye, but each time coupled by the CAP, including this ball stolen by Lanen (37th).
Perfect equality
Upon returning from the locker room, the CAP fell in its faults and it was Rouen who took the game on his own. Javaux was a good kick that ended up in the arms of the bourier which only had to flatten (6-10, 53rd). The course then governed, stung to the live. On an Hutley, Lavernhe, Piaton sequence, the winger ended his race between the posts. Hutley hastened to transform and the CAP was taking control (13-10, 56th). Better still, Rouen was penalized and the capist opener spent three new points (16-10, 63rd).
Périgueux was again sanctioned and Javaux was not trembling (16-13, 67th). The air was unbreathable. Hutley could restore six points ahead but missed the penalty. Périgueux continued to be penalized and retreat. Javaux equalized at the worst moment (16-16, 71st).
-Greg Hutley was missing a drop (78th) and the CAP then played his all-out, but could not pass the defense of Rouen. Hutley was trying the little side. He passed to Giress who commits an in front. On the fray, the ball was released in touch and the worst scenario was announced: extensions.
One in front that costs expensive
And it really didn’t start well for the CAP which took a Direct Cassonnet test, transformed by Javaux. For ten minutes, the course then tried to get tied and also register a test. With melee, penaltrics, Périgueux did not advance and even retreated. Hutley was countering on a kick but recovered the penalty.
The CAP went again in touch. Faltrept was trying the mouse hole, but that did not give anything and the referee whistled the half-time of extra time. Périgueux put all his strength in the battle. On a touch of Rouen, the throw was too long and fell back into the hands of Faltrept which went up the ground. The CAP was then in the advance, Fofana, the third line Center Normand even received a yellow card (96th). Périgueux pushed but committed one in front of 10 meters from the Rouen-goal.
The CAPISTE MEAL was penalized, Rouen emerged in touch. The seconds paraded and Rouen held his semi-final, the referee’s whistle confirmed it. Périgueux after a successful season, bowed on his field (16-23). No semi-final for the course.
