Philippe Héral, Utility Player of Réalmont XIII, returns to her long career and evokes her desires after rugby.
First of all, can you introduce yourself?
My name is Philippe Héral, I am 37 years old soon 38, I am a dad of two children, a little boy Germain, 6, and a little girl Jeanne, 3 years old. I live in Cambon, a small village next to Albi and I am a heating plumber.
Why are you stopping your career now when you have a few years ahead of you?
I stop my playing career because of my advanced age (laughs) The desire is still there but the body follows less … Then since last year, I coached more than what I played, which was fine with me (I have a Rugby in XIII and the diplomas of coaches to Federal). This year, I was taking care of the video sessions that we incorporated before the Friday evening training session.
Who are the educators, coaches and players who have marked your career?
-It is impossible for me to release a particular player, I had the pleasure and the chance to play with great players during the different seasons whether foreign or French … The coaches who will have particularly marked me: Sean Mullins which allowed me to play my first games in the first at 17, Stéphane Revello, for his management and his ability to be a leader of men. Tandems Olivier Janzac/Maxence Riviere, Patrick Limongi/Romain Maillot, and the last Fabien Denis/Romain Dintilhac for their ability to get the most out of players and with a lot of anecdotes…
Do you have any regrets when you look in the retro?
The only regret that I have is the defeat in the final of Elite 2 when I played Lescure against La Reole, a final that rocks in the last moments …
What are your desires after rugby?
My desires after rugby are to take time for my family and support my children in their future activities.
