Rugby: we know the name of the new coach of the Nice stadium

It was in the pipes, it is now confirmed: overview in the stands during the reception of Provence Rugby last week, Gareth Baber will be the next chief coach of the Nice stadium and will succeed Alexandre Compan.

At 52, the Welshman, crowned Olympic champion with the Rugby Fiji at 7 in Tokyo, is about to take up the Nice challenge, in National next season.

The sports organization chart is clearly emerging around him. As announced for more than two months, Barry Maddocks, another Welsh technician who passed by Biarritz and Agen, will take care of three-quarters.

Matthew Clarkin conserve ses fonctions

Emiliano Bergamaschi, current coach of the PARME ZEBREs, will bring his experience to the forwards, in duet with Jamie Cudmore, who arrived during this season as a defense coach.

Matthew Clarkin will retain his functions as sports director.

Another return formalized behind the scenes: that of Martin Jagr. The former RCT winger, already at the club between 2018 and 2023 – first as a rear coach and then Team Manager – will resume this function during the next exercise.
