Fourteen children aged 11 to 14 were arrested after the death of a teenager in a fire, the Northumbria police announced on Saturday in northern England.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the body of this 14 -year -old adolescent was discovered by firefighters in an industrial area of Gateshead, suburb of Newscatle, where they were called on Friday evening.
A fire broke out there around 8:00 p.m. local time.
-On Saturday evening, police announced that they had arrested fourteen children – eleven boys and three girls – aged 11 to 14. They are suspected of “manslaughter”.
“The investigation is only in its infancy and the public is asked not to speculate,” said a police spokesman, without making more comments.
Residents of the district told the BBC on Sunday that adolescents regularly introduced themselves on the industrial site in question.
