According to the latest monetary statistics published by Bank Al-Mghryibthe overall outstanding banking credits reached 1,165 billion dirhams at the end of March, recording an annual sliding of 5.1%, an increase of 56.86 billion dirhams compared to the same period of 2024.
In detail, these are the Equipment credits which display the highest increase, with an increase of 18.1%, to reach an outstanding of 247 billion dirhams, increasing by 37 billion over a year.
THE Participatory funding for housing Also confirm their rise in power, with an annual increase of 16.2%, representing an increase of 3.6 billion dirhams, to reach 25.8 billion dirhams. A trend that reflects the growing attraction of this type of financing to Moroccan households.
-For its part, classic housing credit increased more moderately, 2.2% over a year (+5.3 billion dirhams), but remains the largest position with a total outstanding of 249 billion dirhams.
Regarding suffering receivablestheir increase slows down, with an increase of 2.3% against 3.2% in February 2025. The credit suffering ratio in credit thus decreased to 8.4%, after 8.7% in the previous month, reflecting a relative improvement in the quality of the banking portfolio.
On the sectoral level, credits to public institutions Record growth of 8.2%, or +8.55 billion dirhams, for a total outstanding of 112 billion at the end of March. In parallel, credits to private sector increased by 3.4% (+27 billion dirhams) to reach 849 billion dirhams. Households, in particular, saw their outstanding banking loans grow by 4.8%, an increase of 18 billion dirhams over a year.
