The 78th Cannes Film Festival will take place from May 13 to 24. While waiting for the start of the festivities, Paris Match presents all the films in competition for the Palme d’Or. This Sunday, May 3, “Sirat” by Oliver Laxe.

Oliver Laxe’s past in Cannes
Parisian by birth, the Spanish director Oliver Laxe presented all his films on the Croisette. The documentary “You are all captains” was first presented at the Critics Week in 2010, just like “Mimosas”, six years later, which received the Jury Grand Prix chaired by Valérie Donzelli. The synopsis
In the heart of the mountains of southern Morocco, Luis, accompanied by his son Estéban, is looking for his eldest daughter who disappeared. They reach a group of ravers launched in search of yet another party in the depths of the desert. They sink into the burning immensity of a sand mirror which confronts them with their own limits.

As usual, Oliver Laxe mainly called on amateurs, with two professional actors, Bruno Nunes, seen in the Mesias series and the excellent Sergi Lopez, which we no longer present (and that we love it).
