The lifeless body of a 17 -year -old young man was discovered on Saturday May 3, on a vacant lot in the district of old silos in Sens, in Yonne.
An investigation, entrusted to the organized and specialized crime division (DCOS) of the police, was opened for “search for the causes of death”.

“He is a 17 -year -old young man. The whole municipality is very moved and seized with great sadness”said the mayor of Sens, Paul-Antoine de Carville, in a message transmitted to AFP, referring to “The current investigation”.

According to The Republican Yonne (new window)the young man’s body was discovered following a call for firefighters, initially called around 1:45 p.m. for heart discomfort. On the spot, not far from a bank of the Yonne, his corpse was found “On the ground”according to the parquet floor. Death was noted by a medical examiner, who reported a cadaverous rigidity.
The public prosecutor’s office has confirmed to AFP that “Investigation in search of the causes of death” was entrusted to the organized and specialized crime division (DCOS) of the police. No details have been given as to the condition of the body.
