In Stuttgart, a car drives into a group of people. Several people are seriously injured, a woman dies in the hospital. The police assume an accident.
After the accident in downtown Stuttgart, where a car drove to a group of people, a woman died. A 46-year-old was succumbed to her injuries, said the police and the public prosecutor. Two other people were seriously injured in the accident, several others light.
-The incident occurred on Friday evening shortly before 6 p.m. on the corner of Olgastraße/Charlottenstraße. The driver of a Mercedes G-Class had driven to a group of people. He was arrested and was interrogated, said a police spokeswoman in the evening. The driver therefore did not suffer any injuries. When driving a driver into a crowd in Stuttgart, it was definitely an accident. “The public prosecutor has confirmed that the tragic event at the Olgaeck was a traffic accident,” said Stuttgart city spokeswoman Susanne Kaufmann.
According to the Stuttgart Clinic, five children were also among the injured. At least for the injured children there was careful all -clear in the evening from the hospital. “In the evening, a child was surgically supplied by traumatologists and mouth jaw-facilities and will then be treated intensive medicine,” said clinic spokesman Stefan Möbius.
The area around the Olgaeck had been cordoned off. The police reported considerable traffic disruptions and asked residents to avoid the area far. Stadtbahn traffic was also partially discontinued.
Experts are now examining the exact approach. Accident specialists took a close look at the location of the action in the evening, the driver was heard by the police. Witnesses that have been interviewed should also contribute to clarifying the background.
