A little over 5 years ago, Léman Express was inaugurated with great fanfare. According to data brought together by Wüest Partner, the commissioning of the new rail link connecting Annemasse in Geneva has had a significant impact on the prices of residential real estate in the region served. The idea of connecting the Swiss and French railways dates back to an agreement signed in 1881, but it was not until the spring of 2000 that the Geneva authorities woke up and opted for the Cornavin-Annemasse rail closure (16.5 km), via a section in covered trenches and in tunnel between Praille and Vives. Begun in November 2011, the book was completed in December 2018 for an inauguration a year later, in December 2019.
