Paris Saint-Germain continues its efforts to strengthen its defense with a new objective for the summer transfer window: Tomas Araujo.
The young Portuguese defender, currently under contract with Benfica, would have become a priority for Luis Campos, the football advisor to the Paris club, according to the Portuguese media Record.
A promising profile for Parisian defense
Tomas Araujo, only 22, has shown an impressive potential this season. In 2024-2025, he played 40 games with Benfica, scoring a goal and delivering three assists. These statistics demonstrate its ability to actively participate in the attack while being solid defensively. Its versatility and its calm under pressure make it an ideal player for the Luis Enrique system, which is looking for defenders capable of properly relaunching the game.
A high price but an investment in the future
The main obstacle for PSG remains the release clause of 80 million euros which protects Araujo. However, the Parisian club seems ready to invest in this talent, seeing in it a reinforcement for the long -term future, as illustrated by their recent young people with high potential. If the agreement materializes, Tomas Araujo could become one of the future pillars of the defense of PSG.
