Dennis Hauger again dominates the qualifications of Indy NXT
In a thrilling demonstration of competence and determination, Dennis Hauger, from Norway, won a new pole position in the Indy NXT series, highlighting its impeccable qualifying record this season. The young pilot established the pace during mixed conditions at the Barber Motorsports Park, ensuring the pole for the Alabama Grand Prix with a dazzling time of 1 minute, 12,7705 seconds.
HAUGER, piloting the car No. 28 Rental Group for Andretti Global, has become a force with which it is necessary to count since its beginnings in the series of Indycar development, where it not only claimed pole but also won the race in St. Petersburg, in Florida.
The qualifications at the Barber Motorsports Park have proven to be an adaptability test while the changes in weather conditions forced the pilots to navigate a wet track. Divided into two groups, the peloton faced various challenges, the first group opting for rain tires while the second group seized the opportunity to switch to Slick tires while the circuit was hung.
Despite the disparity of track conditions, the rules of the series dictated that the positions on the grid alternate according to the best times of each group. This rule favored Hauger, who will be joined on the front line by Caio Collet, although the collar time is more than 12 seconds slower than the best Hauger tour.
The faster trend of the second group continued throughout the grid, with unclean positions dominated by drier and faster drivers of the group, while the pilots in pairs positions came from the weet and slower group.
The domination of Hauger was obvious when he not only secured pole but also improved his best time during his last lap. With a demonstration of competence and precision, Hauger expressed his confidence in the Andretti team and his enthusiasm to start the first position for the race.
Among the impressive qualifiers was Evagoras Papasavvas, making its series debut and ensuring third place on the grid. Papasavvas, at just 17, showed his talent with a solid qualification performance. Lochie Hughes and Myles Rowe also carried out commendable performances, securing their places in the second line for the race.
While the scene is ready for an exciting day of racing, all eyes will be turned to Hauger while it aims to convert its pole position into another victory in the very competitive Indy NXT series.
