For more than two decades, Marc Levy has established himself as an essential figure in the French -speaking edition. A prolific author with sustainable success
Marc Levy published his first novel in 2000. Since then, he won in the French literary landscape, with a rhythm of regular publication and a faithful readership. According to data communicated in 2021 by GFK and Le Figaro, it sold 656,000 copies that year. This volume of sales placed it in fifth position of the most read writers in France, a list he has attended since its creation in 2004. According to a survey carried out by capital, the author would receive 15 to 18 % of rights on the sales of his books in large format and 5 % on Poche editions. These percentages are much higher than the average of the sector, which generally varies between 6 % and 12 %. In 2016, his income from copyright amounted to 1.7 million euros, according to this same media. Subsequent estimates, published in 2017, even mentioned 4.5 million euros annually, taking into account translations, adaptations and reissues.
