An experiment launched this Saturday offers motorists and bikers to put their vehicle on the garage and favor soft mobility.

Sarah is motor. In this month of May, his machine will however remain in the garage. The Genevan participates in the mobility click. Thus, to get to Besançon (F) for work, she will take the train, then rent a self-service car.

Until June 2, while she does not use her motorcycle, she can take advantage of a general subscription, a bicycle available and a budget to have her shopping delivered, rent a self-service car or even book a place in a coworking. In exchange, participants must fulfill a daily questionnaire.

“The conclusions that are expected is if people manage to do all of their activities without a car or without a scooter,” explains Guillaume Drevon, director of the Modus Foundation. But also the offer in public transport or self -sharing is sufficient. ” The 72 participants are enthusiastic, but will have to adapt. “I love to take public transport, but it takes more time,” sums up a tester.

The experiment will be renewed this fall. Open to the inhabitants of the city of Geneva and Carouge, it will be accessible to all residents of the canton. Between 300 and 400 people will be able to try the experience.
