A totally successful first for the Frouzin Auto Moto Ancienne Auto in partnership with the town hall of Frouzins
It was a bit of the unknown for the team of the Frouzin Auto Auto Moto Old (AFAMA): organize for the first time in Frouzins, with the assistance of the municipality, the national day of period vehicles. Especially since the weather in the previous days did not announce anything very brilliant. Indeed, the morning sky was covered on the Saint-Germier park on Sunday, April 27, but not enough to discourage the courageous pioneers who came in number (more than expected, as pointed out by the president of the Afama, Xavier Ducasse), in order to make admire their magnificent pampered vehicles and maintained with passion. From 10 a.m., around fifty four -wheeled (and two -wheeled) ancestors deployed their charms to an increasingly numerous and completely won over. Vehicles before the Second World War as the oldest, a 1913 Ford T, alongside his younger sister (1925), a Renault Prima Stella (1933), a Citroën C6 (1929), Ford from the 1930s and even a 1933 HML motorcycle! But also racing cars of all brands: Jaguar, Peugeot, Mercedes, Austin and other Simca until the 1980s. The owners, passionate, were happy to answer the many questions of lovers of all ages, curious or connoisseurs. Then, at 2:30 p.m., started the big competition of elegance: competing vehicles (around thirty) and their owners, mostly in vintage costumes, paraded before a amazed jury presided over by the mayor of Frouzins, Jérôme Laffon, and in which Marie-Jo Bertrand, President of Violets, Nicolas Refutin, Regional of the National Federation of Vintage Vehicles (FNVE), provider of trophies. The choice was difficult in the three categories (before 1940, before and after 1970). A Ford A of 1930, a Chevrolet Corvette from 1954 and an Alfa Romeo Spider of 1986 respectively. A special prize was awarded to the only motorcycle present as well as to the amazing prototype produced for 10 years by Michel Boucard. Next meetings for Afama: the commemoration of May 8 and the local fun fair on May 18.
