American singer Lady Gaga, wearing a scarlet red dress, ignited a delirious crowd this Saturday on Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro. His concert was free.
After starting his show with “Bloody Mary“, The American star, which had not happened in Brazil since a tour in 2012, then chained with”Abracadabra“, one of the flagship titles of his latest album,”Mayhem“, Launched in March.
Throughout the week, fans of the 39 -year -old American singer flocked in the city. The Town Hall of Rio said on the social network X that 2.1 million people attended the concert in Copacabana, more than the 1.6 million for that of Madonna in the same place a year ago. These figures were however disputed by certain specialists who deemed them exaggerated.
The municipal authorities wish to perpetuate this tradition of the free concert in May, in order to stimulate tourism during a period considered as low season. Mayor Eduardo Paes has already suggested that he intended to bring the Irish rock group U2, without specifying a date.
For the Lady Gaga concert on Saturday, an impressive security device was deployed, with more than 5,000 agents, drones and video surveillance cameras with facial recognition.
