French filmmaker Florian Zeller will bring together the couple Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz on the screen in his next film, entitled The BunkerOn Friday announced production to AFP.
Coming from writing and theater, Zeller had international success with his first film, in English, The Fatherwhich earned the Oscar in Anthony Hopkins. His second film, The Sonalso adapted from one of his pieces, with Hugh Jackman, Vanessa Kirby or Laura Dern, was a more modest success.
-A psychological thriller on “the test of a couple”
Pour The Bunkershot in London and Madrid, Florian Zeller brings together the two Spaniards who form one of the most prominent couples of Hollywood, accustomed to the duo filming (Jamon, Jamon, Vicky, Cristina Barcelona…).
“Bunker is a psychological thriller which explores the test of a couple in the face of the tensions of the world around them, and which addresses the fears, doubts and dilemmas that this era poses to each of us,” said the producers.
The film tells the story of a Spanish architect installed with his family in London, who is proposed to build a bunker on behalf of a billionaire of tech adept at survivalism, and the consequences on the couple he forms with his wife. Exit planned in 2026.
