With chikungunya, the hotel industry suffers in Reunion in May

The chikungunya crisis has repercussions even in the local economy. Tourism is one of the sectors that is particularly affected, despite the conducive period of May and its numerous bridges this year.

Its establishment is very well located near the lagoon of La Saline les Bains. Despite the disaffection of tourists from Europe, mainly because of the chikungunya crisis, local customers are present and makes it possible to limit breakage.

A little further, at the Hermitage, the May 1 bridge was disappointing for the Alamanda hotel. The room occupancy rate was 90% for the 1 bridgeis May of last year, but this year it is only 30 %.
