F1, Miami GP: Norris wins a crazy sprint race disturbed by the rain, Hamilton on the podium

Andrea Kimi Antonelli was hoping this Saturday in Miami, he was showered – almost literally – from the first turn. The Italian, the best time of qualifications this Friday, aimed at his first victory in Formula 1 but was surprised by the canon departure of Oscar Piastri. The McLaren driver was the most quick to get out of a starting grid still wet and pushed his young competitor to the fault, who left too wide wanting to defend himself from the outside.

The Australian then thought he had done the hardest but was surprised by a racing event. While Lando Norris returned to him, McLaren decided to arrest first Piastri, which seemed to be good to keep pace. But a safety because caused by the Fernando Alonso crash during the next round, when Norris was in the stands, allowed the Briton to go out in the lead, just in front of his teammate, and to win quietly in a reduced speed of speed.

Leclerc in the wall

Alonso is not the only one to have been trapped by the rain since, during the heating round, Charles Leclerc hit the wall and could not start. His teammate Lewis Hamilton, who left 5th, took advantage of a nice tactical blow from Ferrari. Stopped very early to put on Slicks tires, the seven -time world champion went from 15th to 3rd place to afford a new podium.

Fourth in the end, Max Verstappen received 10 seconds of penalty for having hit Antonelli in the stands. The reigning world champion was released too early by his team and ended among the Finishers last in 17th position. Antonelli, decidedly unlucky during this race, finished 10th.

The French also made White Chou despite the race events. Pierre Gasly is best classified, in 11th position, while Isack Hadjar, who left 8th, paid a bad start and ranked 13th, just in front of Esteban Ocon.
