No pole for the Sprint F1 in Miami for the McLaren drivers, who were surprised by Mercedes and Kimi Antonelli.
But the result remains satisfactory for Oscar Piastri, 2nd, and Lando Norris, 3rd.
“Rather happy,” says the Australian.
“It was not the best tour of my career. I blocked the brakes in the last turn, which probably explains the loss of pole, but second place remains a good result.”
“We can still fight tomorrow for the Sprint victory. Overall, I’m pretty happy.”
-“We still have a little rhythm to find, I hope, so I am optimistic. I will try to win a place in the sprint before focusing on the important points on Sunday.”
Pour Norris, “The qualifications were tight, but it was pleasant.”
“I’m happy to have done a good trick. It was tight, so I couldn’t ask for much more.”
“I focus on this weekend and on today’s performance, which was, I think, rather good. Obviously, not good enough, but it shows how close we are, how fast Mercedes are.”
“We are both behind, so a little work for the race is sprint tomorrow, but close enough for us to still aim for pole tomorrow.”
