Nico Hülkenberg signed the 11th time of the Sprint qualification of the Miami Grand Prix, and the Sauber F1 driver thinks he could have done better if his free test session had happened better. The German is nevertheless satisfied, as he explains before admitting that the degradation worries his team after Djeddah.
“I’m pretty happy to be honest, it’s tight and the free tests were difficult, I had a dish on my tires at the start of my relay and I only made four rounds in free, which is not the best preparation before the Sprint qualifier. But it was correct and rather positive” said Hülkenberg.
“It’s correct, we’ll see how it goes in the race, we know that we had difficulties there but it’s different here. Every day, we come here and we see what we can do, and that’s what we are going to do.”
Gabriel Bortoleto will be 19th on the starting grid of the sprint, and unlike the pilots around him on the grid, he did not miss his last lap, he just made a mistake in his quick turn.
“The tour was good until the last turn, and I blocked the wheels and I went too far. I lost my turn, I was going to improve but just a shame because the turn was good. We move on to something else, there is still a lot to do” said the Brazilian.
