Rain of new engines for pilots in Miami

Rain of new engines for pilots in Miami
Rain of new engines for pilots in Miami

After five weekends of suffering, where the pilots pushed them on the edge, made them scream at the end of the straight lines and used them by incessant braking and acceleration, the engines will be able to enjoy a little rest. On the sidelines of the only free weekend session, the race management announced the engine changes for the event: no less than eleven pilots go to a new power unit!

This is the case of McLaren pilots (Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris), Mercedes (George Russell and Kimi Antonelli), Aston Martin (Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll), Williams (Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz), Sauber (Nico Hülkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto) as well as Haas d’Esteban Ocon.

All the pilots have changed the entire parts that make up the engine block, but none will undergo a penalty since they are still largely in the authorized parts. The other nine other pilots of the grid had already adopted a second engine since the start of the year, either by choice during the last rounds, or because of accidents that caused damage.
