The Dutch Formula 1 World Champion Max Max Verstappen became a dad this Friday, May 2, he announced on his social networks, two days before the Miami Grand Prix in the United States.
“Please note that Max will not participate in the media day in Miami on Thursday because he is waiting for a baby. Everything is fine and he will be on track on Friday for the race weekend. We will not make other comments out of respect for Max’s privacy and his family”the Austrian stable said two hours before the start of the press points on Thursday.
Before the two parents announced the happy news this Friday, May 2, on their social networks. “Welcome to the world, sweet Lily. Our hearts are more filled than ever, you are our best gift. We love you so much”they wrote.
A second girl for Kelly Piquet
Verstappen (27) and his partner Kelly Piquet (36), daughter of the triple Brazilian world champion Nelson Piquet, announced last December to wait for their first child. The Brazilian model already has a daughter, Pénélope, born in 2019 of a union with the former Russian pilot of F1 Daniil Kvyat (31 years old).
“Mad Max”, world champion in the past four years, has won one of the first five GPs of the season in Japan in early April, and is in third place in the world championship classification, respectively two and twelve lengths of the British Lando Norris and the Australian Oscar Piastri, the two McLaren drivers.
