A person died in a collision between three cars that occurred this Saturday, May 3, 2025, around 3:15 p.m., on the A6 motorway near Steinfort, as reported by the Grand Dukeal Center for Fire and Rescue (CGDIS) in a reported ballot in the late afternoon.
In total, six people were injured in the accident, according to firefighters. Contacted, the CGDIS first confirmed that out of these six people, three of them were very seriously affected and were in the same vehicle. A dog, which was in the interior of the most strongly affected car, died. Later in the evening, the Grand Ducal police announced the death of one of the people at the scene of the accident following his injuries.
The intervention was substantial since it required the mobilization of two ambulances from the Luxembourg Fire and Rescue Center (CIS), two other ambulances from Esch-sur-Alzette and Junglinster, the CIS Samu of the Center, an Air Rescue helicopter, and finally staff from the Cis de Mamer, Steinfort and Kahler.
The CGDIS also explains that the highway had to be closed much of the afternoon due to the substantial rescue means put in place for the intervention. Police add that an investigation has been opened to try to determine the circumstances of the accident.
