“I did not expect that,” says MAP, after the dissemination of the famous solutions. This offender has been on several hours to be present this Friday in Paris, in the company of the other players of the famous treasure hunt of the Golden owl, launched 31 years ago. There were several tens present to fill an MK2 quai de Loire room and attend the broadcast of the film revealing the solutions of this quest, closed in early October.
It was in Dabo (Moselle) that the precious statuette was unearthed, reveals Michel Becker during the documentary. The theory of a hidden treasure in Dabo was the most widespread among the owners, even if others thought it in the Jura, in Fontainebleau (Seine-et-Marne) or in the Creuse.
In the room, the pro-dabo cries for joy at the time of the long-awaited revelation, seven months after the discovery. For the others, it is the cold shower. “I was completely on the street,” sighs one. “But no, I dug there a lot of times, I had to walk on it,” says another. “I was so far that I am not even disappointed,” quips a player.
“Everyone has already dug there”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, explains in the film to have added certain figures present on stones at Borne Saint-Martin, near Dabo, and having entrenched some after a declaration by Michel Becker in a YouTube video. His conclusions led him six meters from the area, towards the Saint-Léon chapel.
Despite the joy of meeting all together for this unique event, this solution leaves the dubious players this Friday evening. “Everyone has already dug there, there were even complaints from the town hall,” notes Timothée, “that it is only six meters I am quite perplexed, that would mean that no one has ever searched? »»
“We are all on the ass”, abounds a naughty who has long sought around Dabo, “everyone had seen these figures, the number of inspections that there were on these engravings … I was not far away. It will take time to digest it all. »»
“There is no explanation”
In addition to the shock of the discovery, the players remain hungry after these revelations. “I’m a little lost,” says Nicolas at the exit. For two months had searched the Dabo area for two months before following a track in the Jura. Like others, beyond the final solution, he thought he had answers to certain puzzles of the game in the film and would have liked to “enter more detail”. “There is no explanation for super-solution,” says Timothée, calling Michel Becker to “really give the solutions”.
After looking for the owl for 15 years, Map also deplores an “not exceptional” ending which does not give all the answers. “I did not expect that,” he said, also demanding more explanations.
Some already declare that they want to continue to seek the treasure, issuing the idea that it was not really digested. Others are planning elsewhere, in the “owl 2”, the new treasure hunt launched by Michel Becker which should be unveiled next June.
