Paddy Pimblett silenced many skeptics this Saturday in Miami!
The English star won the greatest victory in his career by dominating the former Light Weight Champion of Bellator, Michael Chandler, in a clear and precise manner.
PIMBLETT (22–4) stopped Chandler (23–10) with ground strikes during the Co-Main Event fight of the UFC 314 on Saturday, which took place at the Kaseya Center in Miami. The official judgment took place at 3′07 ″ from the third round.
This is the best performance of his career for Pimblett.
Chandler had success at the start of the round, but only for a short period. He managed to reduce the distance, to bring PIMBLETT to the ground and to control it for a good part of the round. However, in the last minute, the fight took place, pressing pimplett and trying to attack.
-After the first round, the situation took a major turn. Pimblett dominated the standing and ground fight. He chained the blows and also managed to return to Chandler, while inflicting heavy damage with his elbows.
The third round was on the same dynamic, Pimblett seriously injuring Chandler before placing it on the ground. From there, the situation deteriorated to chandle. Pimblett wore violent blows from the upper body and manhandled Chandler for more than a minute, forcing the referee to interrupt the fight.
PIMBLETT remains undefeated at UFC with seven victories. It was also his fifth success by combat stop in promotion. After the fight, Pimblett announced a major challenger fight in 155 pounds.
“Any boxer among the four, the first five (it’s the ones that I then aim). I want this world title. … I want Dustin (Poirier), Justin (Gaethje), Charles (Oliveira) or the little bourgeois Arman (Tsarukyan)-any of these four. »»
On the other hand, Chandler, 38, is on a series of three consecutive defeats and displays a balance sheet of 1–5 in his last six performances. It is the worst series of his career.
