Safety, parking, cohabitation with pedestrians … The fourth edition of the bicycle barometer is launched. In Toulouse and in the agglomeration, regular or occasional cyclists are invited to give their opinion by June 2.
In Toulouse as in neighboring municipalities, the bicycle takes up more and more space in urban space. The “EMC2” mobility survey confirms this: the number of cyclists is soaring. A trend welcomed by the two -wheeled two -feet association, which has been campaigning for years for a more welcoming city with soft mobility.

But this new deal is not without friction: conflicts with pedestrians, a feeling of insecurity in the face of motorized vehicles, or even poorly designed arrangements are often denounced by users.
Thirty questions to take stock
The Federation of Bicycles users (FUB) organizes until June 2, 2025 the fourth edition of the bicycle barometer, a large national survey relayed locally by associations. On the program: around thirty questions to assess the bicycle traffic conditions in each municipality, as: do we feel safe by bicycle? Is it easy to park your bike? Are conflicts with pedestrians frequent? Has the situation improved in recent years?
An interactive map even makes it possible to point out the “blackheads” and the arrangements acclaimed.
Each voice counts
The survey is open to everyone, even to non-cyclists (who can explain why they do not practice). Each participant can respond for several municipalities, according to their usual journeys.
-“The more participants, the more the results are taken seriously,” insists the two -wheel association. “It is a concrete way of influencing local policies. »»

Disappointing results in the last survey in 2021
During the previous edition, in 2021, the cities of the Toulouse agglomeration displayed globally disappointing results: most had been classified E or F, signaling an unfavorable bicycle climate.
This 2025 edition will take stock of recent cycle policies and compare local developments for four years. The results will be revealed in September 2025.
