Just under twenty kilometers from the finish, Fertois Thomas Courcier launched hostilities by setting the first attack in the fight for the final victory. He was however joined after only a few kilometers at the front and it was the winner of the day who was offensive at the top of the last ascent. If he could not win everyone from the wheel, since Quentin Drevet remained hung up to the sprint, Lévi Matifas was ultimately the most swift.
