Diverse facts-The prosecutor of the Republic of Nîmes returned this Friday, May 2 on the murder of Aboubakar Cissé, a young 22-year-old Malian murdered at the Mosque de la Grand-Combe (Gard), giving more details on the advance of the investigation and the motivations of the presumed assailant. In particular, she explained why at this stage the national anti -terrorist prosecutor’s office had not seized, while lawyers for the victim’s family claim it.

“The national anti -terrorist prosecution (PNAT) at this stage has not retained a terrorist qualification and therefore did not grasp the facts”confirmed Cécile Gensac, the prosecutor of Nîmes. “Targeting due to race and religion is not a sufficient criterion for the referral to the PNAT. The potentially international (of the case) character either ”she explains.

The non-saisine of the PNAT is in no way “A relativization of the severity of the facts committed which make it incurred perpetuity”however, insisted the prosecutor who adds that “The PNAT will remain under observation throughout the course of the judicial information”.

Monday April 28, an investigation for “Murder aggravated by premeditation and at the rate of race or religion” was opened, entrusted to the criminal pole of the Nîmes prosecutor’s office.

A premeditated act

The family of Aboubakar Cissé announced at the start of the week to file a complaint with constitution of civil party for a terrorist murder. Their lawyer, Me Mourad Battikh judged Thursday, May 1, that the non-saisine of the PNAT was “Absolutely shocking” and that she “Prevented (Ait) a national introspection” On this act that some describe as Islamophobic.

On Friday, April 25, around 9:30 a.m., the young faithful Muslim Aboubakar Cissé was killed 57 stabbing in the prayer room of the Mosque de la Grand-Combe. In a video he himself filmed after the murder, the main suspect attacked the religion of the victim: “I did it (…), your allah shit”.

The suspect, Olivier Hadzovic, went to the authorities earlier this week in Italy, where he had fled. It should be given to France in mid-May. During his first hearings, he denied having been motivated by the hatred of Islam.

According to the Nîmes prosecutor, “The facts appear at this stage built around the obsessive desire to kill a person.” Che young man from a family of “Eleven children”, “had announced that he was going to attack someone”she says. “I’m going to do it today, I’m going to do it on the street”he wrote in an online conversation according to the elements found on his mobile phone by investigators. “I’m going to attack the mosque?” I don’t have too much idea (…). Pharos report

The young man was very active on social networks. Before the drama, he was the subject of a report made by two Internet users on the Pharos platform, in particular for having broadcast discord scarification videos. He also mentioned the desires of murder and rape on women and corpses.

One of the suspect’s brothers describes him as “Non -violent”. The latter says he “Had criticized Muslims only once” with him.

The investigation must make it possible to establish “To what extent the act and the choice of his place were induced by the religion or the origin of the victim”underlined the prosecutor.

The family of Aboubakar Cissé will be received Monday by the Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleau, under the fire of criticism since the start of the case for having been too late to express himself.
