Donald Trump’s 2026 draft 2026 budget gives priority to defense and internal security

The text includes a 13% increase in the defense budget and 65% of that of internal security.

Donald Trump wishes to focus the United States budget for 2026 on internal security and defense, the White House said on Friday May 2. Domains which had been erected as priorities by the Republican President during his electoral campaign.

The White House said that this first budget proposal also included 22% cut in total state spending. It provides for a 13% increase in the defense budget and 65% of that of internal security.
