Outnoir T2: the snake pit

Résumé
Still an apprentice hunter recently, Conrad knows it: it takes not to climb to the top, and he will have to be merciless to stay there. Propelled to the head of a squadron of vessels, he now takes his orders – although as a contribution – of the brand new king in person. His mission? Conduct a secret expedition capable of overthrowing the course of war….

Why read it
After a very successful first volume (Our column is here), the author takes us even further into his universe. The political system and the bestiary have expanded.
The snake pit presents a sustained pace with an advancement in the a slow – but also more complex – scenario – which is regularly interrupted by action scenes. The dynamics between the characters remain at the center of the story: we appreciate that the author takes the time to develop the characters and motivations of the characters. Freedom obliges

Résumé
Here is the anti -realian spy at the head of the Kingdom of France! The death of Louis XXII turns out to be a short -lived relief for Gabrielle. She lacks support, experience and time: her regency is threatened, at least as much as her life. To get out of it and make her ideas heard, she must play the game of her opponents and go back to the cameras. Plots, dramas and betrayals await it at the turn. All eyes are riveted on this new season of nobility requires. Engine… Action!

Why read it
After nobility obliges (Chronicle to read here), Maiwenn Alix returns with freedom obliges and it is clear that the author still holds as well by the lectorate!
We take up the events exactly where we stopped (special mention in the short summary at the start of the novel, for those who have forgotten the course of the first volume).

In Liberté obliges, as it was the previous opus, the author is not tender with her characters. We really don’t go far from the favorite saga. Follow this link to buy it or click here

Vampires Royals T2 : The Queen will rise

Résumé
The Crimson Heart, the Palais du Roi des Vampires. A place of intrigue, power and blood.
From the start, Florence knew that her stay at the castle could seal her destiny. She knew that as rebel, spy and murder, she might be unmasked and sentenced to death. But she would never have thought of falling in love. De Benedict. Of the king. From the most hated vampires. Torn between her loyalty to her family and her feelings for Benedict, Florence, considered a traitor by the two camps, desperately tries to prevent the conflict between humans and vampires leading to an open war …

Why read it
The first volume was not revolutionary but frankly entertaining (read my opinion), and this second and last volume perfectly follows the model of the first.
An “easy”, fluid and not complex reading, with effective reversals, and beautiful moments of tensions between the characters …

Sometimes we don’t ask for more of our reading. Because yes, whatever the volume, it is the relationship between Florence and Benedict that predominates. If you loved the first volume, you will not be disappointed! Follow this link to buy it or click here
