The Mosaic Association En Val Affien Élus, Professionals and the general public at the opening of the 24th edition of the Show of Publishers and Artists. This unmissable meeting of the artist’s book festival, which is held from April 26 to May 4, will invest the three galleries of the town hall.
Thirty-four publishers and artists from all over France will present their work there, between innovation, material and poetry. The artist’s book, far from a simple connected work, proves to be a work of art in its own right, mixing literature, plastic arts and graphic creation. A quote from Guy Schraenen at the opening room reminds us: “The artist’s book is not an art book, the artist’s book is a work of art.”
The public will discover a diversity of universes, with unique, numbered or limited drawing books. Works from the Mosaic Fund in Val and the Departmental Library are also exhibited.
-This year, the theme of the writing workshops led by Muriel Limonet and Arne Aullas d’Avignon was “Les Petits Bonheurs”. The creations of participants, young people, adults, seniors, are exposed to the ground floor.
An artist’s book competition is also organized, with award ceremony, Sunday May 4 at 4 p.m. The opening will take place on Saturday at 12:30 p.m., followed by an aperitif offered.
