Volleyball. Male elite: REC, “target” of all its opponents. Sport

-

It is a little (a lot) the ransom of glory. With its rich past, many seasons in Ligue A and Ligue B, and a pro French Cup won in 2012, the REC becomes the target of all his opponents this season. The coach, Olivier Bouvet, is well aware of it: We are always considered a professional club, we have been more expected since the start of the championship. Our rivals know that they face a large displacement, accustomed to the very high level, with a certain notoriety. All our trips are hot, our opponents have always achieved their best performance against us, even if sometimes it did not hold until the end.

By taking up the thread of the season, the only two defeats were conceded outside, in Vincennes and Arles, each time in Tie-Break. Other successes have also taken a little time to take shape, many sets having been lost, here and there. There is an additional motivation opposite. It has always been the case when you meet the first. As a player, you play to win, in your head, you don’t want to let go.

In order to make the difference each time, the REC is obliged to raise its level of play. If we are not able to win in the face of elite teams, while they are often old pros opposite, and there are few players in the making, there is a problem. For our part, all our young people aspire to evolve above then and become pros.

To display its superiority to Grenoble once again, the REC will have to rely on its usual values to impose itself on it, as Olivier Bouvet hope: Thanks to their great success in Chalon-sur-Saône, 3-0, the Isérois are relaunched at the top of the table. It is a great training, even if I think that technically and individually we are stronger. Physically, we are in good shape. Despite everything, it is time that it ends, it is psychologically that it starts to shoot because you have to win every weekend. It is rather encouraging to have an important match there, I hope it will be fine. The goal is to win our last two games, we are ready.
