The CVB 52 ends its season in front of a too effective Poitiers

The CVB 52 Haute-Marne ended its season, Friday, May 2, in the anonymity of a semi-final which he never managed to master. As in the first leg, Poitiers dominated his opponent from the head and shoulders in his bubbling Lawson-Body room (3-0) and will go to the final.

Chaumont-Poitiers 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-21)

In Poitiers (Lawson-Body room). About 2,500 spectators. Referees: MM. Isnard and Carquin.

Starting six: Worsley (cap., -), Holdaway (3), Henno (10), Suihkonen (2), Toledo (11), Maase (7). Libero: Closter. Entering: Diop (-), Lietzke (-), Pasteur (8), Polak (4). Entr. : D; Lewis.

The CVB 52 Haute-Marne ended its season with a new underperformance during its semi-final return, Friday, May 2, in Poitiers.

Once again, the Haut-Marnais failed to resist the new Poitevin force. As to go, they have never really made their opponents doubt.

The Poitevins also enter their match perfectly. Despite the combined absences of their central Simon Magnin and Jackson Howe injured, but pushed by a magnificent Lawson-Body room, they immediately impose the tempo, facing Chaumontese, visibly tense, who are slow to put themselves in the rhythm (11-6).

Not enough impactful in the service, visitors must find solutions to the net. But then again, the cevated defensive organization is still too porous (16-11). The punctual flashes of Shane Holdaway on the counter and Pierre Toledo to the service are too isolated to bring the team back in the scoring board (18-16). CVB 52 can only see the damage: 25-19 in 23 ′.

CVB the head underwater

Once again, the series of points conceded from the start of the second round by the CVB 52 is a huge handicap for the men of Silvano Prandi (5-2). Not only does she force Haut-Marnais to always run after the score, but she seriously starts the morale of the latter (12-6).

On the intrinsically collective level, the Poitevins unroll a most effective game, facing a CVB which does not manage to stop the hemorrhage (15-9) at all.

The counter of Jacob Pastor who comes out of a few centimeters according to the video increases the lead on the visiting shoulders (17-11).

The entry into play of Josef Polak on the ground is interesting (22-18), but is however insufficient to hope to overthrow a scenario during which no element seems to be disturbing the confidence of the locals: 25-19 in 27 ′.

And the start of the third set does not seem to have to change the situation. Founding completely back to the wall, the Chaumont team, so cautious in all its gestures, leaves the field open to much more incisive poetvins on all sectors of play (5-1). Mathis Henno is trying to rebooster his teammates (6-6), but non-converted counterattacks spoil the cevated reaction (10-7).

The new energy developed by CVB 52 is however more inclined to disturb the pictavians (14-16).

But individual and defensive individual errors are too numerous to find serenity (19-17).

The frustration is at its height on an “ace” of Brett Walsh confirmed by the video. The Chaumontais nervousness is up to the disappointment of a team which completely missed its semi-final: 25-21 in 35 ′.

Poitiers, sixth in the regular season, will therefore be from the final on May 10 and 17. For Chaumont, looks are already turned to next season.
