The Poitevins took the best this Friday on Chaumont while the Tourangeaux will play a third decisive match against the Montpellier in the semi-finals.

Poitiers qualified for the final of the French volleyball championship by beating Chaumont (3-0) Friday at home, where Tours was beaten by Montpellier (3-2), which thus offered a third decisive match. The Tourangeaux, sacred in 2023, and the Montpellier, the year before, will meet in Hérault on Monday for this support match. First of the regular season swept home in the first game (3-0), Montpellier looked up at the end of the suspense (25-22, 26-28, 25-13, 22-25, 15-13), carried by its Canadian pointu Ryan Sclater (25 pts to 50% success).

The Poitevins, sixths of the regular season, are unstoppable in play-offs: after having eliminated Tourcoing (3rd) in the quarterfinals (3-2), they swept the Haut-Marnais (3-1, 3-0) to afford their first championship final since 2012. They will seek their third champion title (after 1999 and 2011), the first since the bankruptcy in 2012 and A solid asset in their round, Nik Mujanovic.

The pointed Slovenian, recruited for the play-offs after wearing the colors of Paris during the regular season, once again splashed the match of his young talent (20 years): 21 points scored at 59% of success, including an ACE to conclude the second set (25-19, same score as the first round) and one counter to give four match balls. In this final round, won 25 to 20, the Poitevin stadium was led 16 to 14, before overthrowing the steam (19-17), notably taking advantage of the Approximations of Chaumont in attack.
