For Russia, this is the first official visit to the Russian Federation since the comrade to Lam was elected secretary general of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The visit aims to strengthen political confidence, to identify new directions to bring traditional friendship and global strategic partnership with Russia to new heights, as well as to consolidate cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the main political parties in Russia.

Vice-Minister Le Thi Thu Hang: The victory of the Soviet Union in the Great Patriotic War in 1945 had great historical importance not only for the Soviet people, but also for revolutionary and national liberation from around the world, including Vietnam.
By celebrating the 80th anniversary of the day of victory, we are more deeply impregnated with historical values, the indomitable combat spirit and the aspiration to peace brought by victory.
The great victory of the Soviet people crushed fascism, seriously weakening the colonial system of European empires; strongly encouraged the movement for national independence, democracy and social progress in the whole world, thus creating the basics of global multilateralism today, creating a profound change in the world political situation, in particular the birth of the United Nations with principles of international relations such as respect for equality and self -determination between nations; The resolution of conflicts by peaceful means … contributed significantly to shaping a new world order after the war.
For Vietnam, the victory of the Soviet Union in the Great Patriotic War was a source of great encouragement and motivation, as well as an important premise for the Vietnamese people, under the leadership of the party and President Ho Chi Minh, lifts and leads a general uprising to take power with success.
The August 1945 revolution broke out in a context of “strong opportunity”, collapse of the fascist system, including the capitulation of Japan in front of the Soviet Union and the Allies, and at the end of the war in Europe.
And on September 2, 1945, on the historic place Ba Dinh, before his compatriots and the peoples of the whole world, President Ho Chi Minh read the declaration of independence giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, opening an era of freedom, national independence and socialism in Vietnam.
The victory of the Vietnamese people has also contributed significantly to the struggle of the world’s peoples against fascism for peace, democracy and social progress.
