What is the Infinity Trail? The French circuit of Infinity Trail was launched in 2020 by Maud des and Frédéric Morand with a first edition in Pavilly in Normandy. However, the concept is imported from the USA and was designed to test the endurance, resistance and mental of competitors. It is Gary Cantrell, known as Lazarus Lake, the first to have designed and carried out extreme endurance races. Its races are known to be particularly trying. The Magazine Trail Runner described him as “evil genius”, “Leonardo da Vinci de la Pain”, “master of sadomasochistic art”. For the Infinity Trail, the backyard-utra has a principle that is both simple and completely crazy. It is a 6.706 km loop to make in less than an hour, with a start every hour bringing together the runners who have successfully completed the previous loop. The circuit stops when the last person in the race ends a loop alone. There is therefore no end date or end time. Both, Maud and Frédéric practicing these long distances races, creating the agency wanted to take groups to meet local populations and to discover their lifestyle, by immersing runners in the heart of the country visited. This is how in 2018, the Trail The World travel agency was born. Trail The World is not a traditional travel and event agency. It is above all a team of trail and travel enthusiasts, which are responsible for allowing everyone to run the trail of their dreams, in France or abroad. For Maud and Frédéric, the organizers of the race, it was important to adopt an eco-responsible approach, in order to limit the impact and to benefit from the Zero Impact Event label, to guarantee its actions to limit its carbon impact as much as possible. Good waste management is essential. Selective sorting trash cans will be present on all places of departure and arrival. A team will ensure that no waste will be left on the areas crossed. Today, the Infinity Trail circuit is made up of 4 backyards in France: in Hossegor around Lake Salé, on the island of Aix an island prohibited from cars whose tour is 6.706 kilometers, in Dijon at the Park de la Combe and in Normandy in Pavilly, where the French final of the circuit takes place. The winners of the island of Aix, Hossegor and Dijon obtain a qualification for the French final in Normandy. She told us that at the end of this kind of effort, it takes at least one week to find a correct sleep, not far from a month to no longer feel the slightest physical pain and often up to three months for the biological balance in the body to stabilize.
