The year 2025 is generous in bridges, especially in this month of May. If working people can sigh while enjoying a few additional days of leave, this calendar chance is less delighted with the French Blood Establishment (EFS).
-In a press release, the institution, which celebrates its 25th anniversary, deplores this annual drop in blood donations. She recalls that “While France is paused, blood needs remain daily for patients”. Each day, holidays or not, it takes 10,000 blood donations to provide for the needs of patients.
This gift is all the more precious if the blood group is considered rare. To compensate for the decrease in blood stocks, the EFS organizes an unprecedented collection at La Cartonnerie, the large concert hall and current music scene from Reims (Marne). On Monday May 12, 2025, it will be possible to go on stage to give. France 3 Champagne-Ardenne has already tested the approach: it is much less frightening than it seems.
The concert hall, near the city center, will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. A snack is planned after the donation. It is possible to check your eligibility for donation beforehand via a small online questionnaire. Thus, a tattoo or piercing of less than four months, a recent appointment with the dentist, a mass of less than 50 kilos, or even risky intercourse are as many contraindications (see location of the cardboard on the map below).
You can make an appointment online too. The EFS also indicates the extension of the timetables of its Blood House, located on the site of the House House White, in the western districts of Reims:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Thursday, Friday: 08:00 to 1:00 p.m.
- Saturday: 8:00 a.m.-12:30 am
Blood collections have also already taken place in the prestigious Reims opera. Each year, nearly a million people can be treated thanks to the donation of blood.
