Charleroi wins in Sclessin and takes an option on PO2

-

The zebras had an excellent deal this Sunday by winning in Sclessin. Three days before the end, they were off to win the PO2.

On this gray Sunday afternoon, Standard and Charleroi clashed during the “Walloon Shock”. Zebras could do an excellent operation for a group victory, while the Rouches hoped to thwart these plans by winning their first victory in European playoffs.

Dierckx, Lawrence and Kuavita entered the group for Standard, Keita was the only change in Charleroi’s starting team.

Zero and virgin score

Visitors started strong, after just two minutes of play, Stlic got a first opportunity for the head captured by Epolo. Standard started very badly, even if the Rouches restored the balance later. In the middle of the first half, Delavalée was to be vigilant on the first shot to the goal of Ngoy. The same Ngoy retained his luck a few moments later, without more success. A rather weak first half.

Decisive stud

After the break, Charleroi took the initiative again and it paid quickly. Heymans first hit the post at close range before Stlic made 0-1. The zebras then checked the match. Once again, the standard has shown a lack of biting. It was not until twenty minutes from the end that Delavallée had to intervene on a free kick of bulat.

On the other side, Rogelj forgot to “kill” the match, Epolo shipping the ball in a corner. In the last moments, BULAT still had the possibility of agising but his shot was far too weak to surprise Delavalée.

New defeat for standard, which lives these POs as a real obstacle course. Charleroi is off to win these play-offs.

Match course: 0-1 (50′) Stulic
