It is around 9:15 pm, Saturday May 3, when a crew of the gendarmerie of Thouars returning from an intervention is alerted by strong motorized noises near the place called “Le Petit Sault”, in the town of Loretz-D’ARGENTON. Helped by the testimonies of several residents, they end up identifying the two motorcycles which lend themselves to a kind of “urban rodeo”, but on country paths. They are on the handlebars of two vehicles without license plates, fires or even mirrors, and which therefore have the right to circulate on the public highway.
A hedge of honor of the inhabitants exasperated by the noise
After a crossover, the two bikers come face to face with another patrol from reinforcement. They try to escape him but end up getting dressed in a cul-de-sac, before being picked up by the military. The motorized duo was then brought back to the gendarmerie of Thouars, passing briefly in front of a hedge of honor spontaneously formed by some inhabitants relieved to see this noisy rodeo end.
The two boys arrested, aged 16 and 20 years old and domiciled in Thouarsais, were heard about the facts before being released, the young minor having been entrusted to his parents. They will soon be summoned to justice for traffic with an unpomologated vehicle, an offense of motorized rodeo but also refusal to comply.
