During a long press conference, the Nîmes prosecutor, Cécile Gensac returned to the bloody murder of the Grand-Combe on Friday April 25 and the motivations of the alleged assassin, Oliver H, 20.
The murderer of Aboubakar Cissé, the 22-year-old Malian murdered in the Mosque de la Grand-Combe (Gard), acted “In an isolated context”guided by with “Very personal springs”namely a “Obsessive desire to kill a person”according to the prosecutor of Nîmes.
-Very quickly, it appeared that the aggression was the result of an individual who acted in an isolated context, without ideological demand or link with an organization which would disseminate an ideological claim which it would intend to carry by intimidation or terror.

In his first statements to Italian investigators, the young man had recognized the murder but denied having acted by hatred of Islam, indicating, according to his lawyer, “Having killed the first person he found” on his way.
“The facts appear at this stage built around the obsessive desire to kill a person”, said the Public Prosecutor of Nîmes, adding that the National Anti -terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT) had “at this stage” not retained the terrorist qualification but that it “Remote in observation” on this sensitive file.
He then considered “Committee or leave Europe”. He will then cut his hair and shave his head so as not to be recognized. He will be arrested three days after crime in Italy after going to a police station in Pistoia, near Florence.
Nîmes prosecutor said the suspect will be given to France “By the end of next week”the prosecution will request its placement in pre -trial detention.
