On the roads of Guadeloupe, the nests in a poultry always in the viewfinder of the bikers

-

Several Guadeloupe biker clubs called for an operation “Nids-de-Poule” this Thursday, May 1, for the second consecutive year. It was for bikers dressed in their yellow chasuble to report the many holes on the roadway, dangerous for the two wheels. A situation that has not improved in 2025.

On May 1, the strands of thrush flourish by the roads, for bikers on the other hand, this flowering has a completely different scent and takes the form of holes, crevices and other nests-of-poule. Some are up to 10 centimeters deep. A real danger for men and their machine.

I have a fart on my motorcycle which is a fine example of what a nest can do. Lordsque I took it, I almost lost control of the motorcycle and the rim is completely damaged, distorted.

Also to avoid new accidents, several biker clubs gathered this morning for a 2nd Nid-de-Poule operation. And we didn’t have to go far to start drawing the first gallinaceous.

After North Basse-Terre last year, the convoy took the high-terre roads this time. Roads, again, cracked and distorted.

And some are so large that drawing a hen is no longer enough, you have to go to the upper model. Proof that the state of the road network deteriorates year after year, without any improvement from one year to the next.

Here we make the circuit between Pointe-à-Pitre and the mold. But if we take, for example, the Route de la Riviera which leads to Saint-François, there are also huge holes. They are no longer nests-of-poule but ostrich nests! That’s why we hear things.

At the end of their journey this morning, the bikers emptied 8 bombs of paint and reported more than 60 nests-de-poule.
